ON May 9th 2016...

In Sunset Park, 8 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, in the presence of God, Angela's parents and sister, David's Aunt and Uncle, and a British minister from the "Wedding Wagon", Angela and David promised to love and take care of each other for the rest of their lives. Standing on one leg, in high heals, Angela looked into David's eyes, and although scary things were ahead for them, like her above the knee amputation, she knew that with God and David she could face anything. David held Angela's hands tight, partly because he always held her hands and would always hold her hands, but also to make sure she didn't fall standing on one leg during the ceremony. David knew that this was the beginning of the rest of his happy life and the start of an amazing family.

The wedding was short and sweet, only taking about five minutes from the welcome to the kiss, but Angela appreciated that, and sat down in her chair after hugging and kissing her new husband and sharing congratulatory hugs from her parents and family.

That night Angela's parents took the newlyweds and Angela's sister, to Guy Fiers restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip. Then the group visited the Bellagio fountain and took in view of the strip's bright lights from the top of the Stratosphere.

The day was wonderful, because that was the day that David and Angela became a family, became one, promised to love each other forever, promised to help and cherish each other forever. But there were things missing.

You were missing, David's and Angela's family and friends. From a young age, like most little girls, Angela dreamed about her wedding. She dreamed of her father walking her down the aisle. The same aisle that her Mom walked down, towards her Dad. She dreamed of her beautiful white wedding dress and her husband standing on the stage waiting for the doors to open to see his beautiful bride. She dreamed of saying I do in front of all of her family and friends.

ON DECEMBER 29, 2018...

In Eureka, California, in the presence of God, Angela's family, David's family and all of their friends, Angela and David will renew the vows they promised each other, two years prior. Angela will WALK, down the aisle with her father, DANCE her first dance with her husband David and they will RUN away together into the sunset after a fun party with all of YOU.

Here are some of the details for where this joyous event will take place.

 The famous Sequoia Redwood Trees

The famous Sequoia Redwood Trees

Eureka, CA

Eureka is the principal city and county seat of Humboldt County in the Redwood Empire region of California. The city is located on U.S. Route 101 on the shores of Humboldt Bay, 270 miles (430 km) north of San Francisco and 100 miles (160 km) south of the Oregon border. At the 2010 census, the population of the city was 27,191, and the population of Greater Eureka was 45,034. Eureka is the largest coastal city between San Francisco and Portland, Oregon, and the westernmost city of more than 25,000 residents in the 48 contiguous states.

Eureka is the hometown of Angela, and where her parents currently reside. Both of her parents were born and raised in Eureka, fell in love and were married in Eureka and raised there family in Eureka. This small town was too small for Angela after high school and she headed across the country to the big city of Boston for college. It was only after she left though, that she realized the unique beauty in the town she grew up in and the privilege it was to grow up in a place surrounded by such magnificence.

The ceremony will take place at First Covenant Church in Eureka, CA. The church was founded in 1928 and in 1948 the Sanctuary, where the ceremony will be held, was built. It is the church that Angela's parents were married in and Angela grew up in. Angela has many fond memories of Sunday mornings, sitting in the front row, watching her mother play the piano. Also, spending weekday nights laying in the pews listening to the choir rehearse the annual Christmas choir concert. Some of those nights Angela remembers looking down the aisle at the church, dreaming about walking down it, and meticulously planning out what her dream wedding would look like. It was mybe because some of those nights the church was decorated for Christmas, but Angela usually dreamed of a Christmas wedding. But most of all she dreamed of the church full of people she loved More details to come about the time of the ceremony soon.

The reception will take place just steps away from the ceremony at First Covenant Church's fellowship hall. Angela with the help of lots of friends are hoping to transform this gymnasium into an elegant winter wonderland wedding reception. But no matter what it looks like, most importantly, it will be full of friends and family of David and Angela, ready to celebrate the joyous occasion.  The reception will take place immediately following the ceremony.

Did you know, California's Redwood Coast has been named Lonely Planet's number one destination to visit in the US in 2018. Here's why...

Eureka, CA is located in Northern California, so if you are dreaming of warm beaches and Hollywood stars you might be disappointed, but you won't be disappointed for long. The Redwood Coast is one of the most beautiful places in the country. Angela grew up with massive redwood trees right outside her front door, and only realized the privilege of living in the area when she left for college. If you are planning to come to the wedding David and Angela hope you will be able to enjoy the area and see some of God's amazing creation.

Here are a few web sites and publications that can help you plan your time here in Eureka and the surrounding area.

Avenue of the giants

About 45 miles south of Eureka, this 31-mile road is perhaps the most amazing forest drive in the world. This portion of old Highway 101, that parallels Freeway 101 with its 51,222 acres of redwood groves. It is by far the most outstanding display of these giant trees in the entire 500-mile redwood belt and is accessible to all with convenient services provided along the way. The Avenue of the Giants is surrounded by Humboldt Redwoods State Park which has the largest remaining stand of virgin redwoods in the world. Take time to browse tourist attractions, picnic, camp, hike, swim, fish, raft, or bike ride in the cool hush of these ancient redwood forests

Trinadad and the Redwood coast

Trinidad is a seaside town in Humboldt County, located on the Pacific Ocean 8 miles north of the Arcata-Eureka Airport and 15 miles north of the college town of Arcata. Situated directly above its own natural harbor, Trinidad is one of California's smallest incorporated cities, (with a 2010 population of 367) and is noted for its spectacular coastline with ten public beaches and offshore rocks.

Ferndale, CA

Known as Cream City, Ferndale was founded in 1852 by pioneer families who farmed the Eel River bottom lands. The rich pastures were ideal for dairy cows and farmers translated their prosperity into lavish homes known as Butterfat Palaces. The Victorian downtown and neighborhoods have changed little. With historic bed and breakfast inns and an
unhurried pace, Ferndale is an ideal refuge from the hectic world.

Wedding Party

The following are little bios about David and Angela's Wedding Party. The most important thing for David and Angela, especially in these last few years, has been family. Because family is so important to them they decided to comprise their wedding party of their family. Every immediate family member will have a roll in their wedding.

Angela Lynn Hansen (Younger) was born in Eureka, CA and after high school moved all the way across the country to the greater Boston, MA area. She received her Bachelors degree in Marketing from Bentley University and later went on to obtaining her Masters of Business Administration, online, from Liberty University. After living in the Boston area for 11 years she decided to move closer to family, and moved to the Boise, Idaho area, where her brother and sister-in-law lived. After a few years there she met her amazing husband on Eharmony and he moved down to Idaho from Montana to be with her. In 2016 after struggling most of her life with knee pain and instability, her knee finally stopped working all together, and the only treatment option available to her was amputation. Wanting to be married before the surgery and long long recovery she and David got married in a small Vegas ceremony and then January 2017 they left for Boston to have the surgery. She is now on the other side of it and is learning to walk again. She can't wait to walk down the aisle like she's always dreamed and is so blessed to have David to walk towards, because he has been by her side through some of the worst times of her life, but also some of the best times too.

Maid of Honor

Angela's sister, and best friend, Jennifer Younger, grew up in Eureka, CA and after high school headed across the world to Australia to work as a missionary with the organization Youth With A Mission (YWAM). She lived in the town of Townsville on the north east coast of Australia. After spending about 10 years there she came back to the states and went to Bible College in Montana. She now lives in the San Diego area and is finishing up her Bachelors Degree in Organizational Leadership. Jennifer and Angela were able to take a trip of a lifetime together in 2013, when they traveled through five countries in Europe, for five weeks. Angela is so happy to have Jennifer standing by her side during her wedding, as she has stood by her side a lot over the years, especially this last year and a half, during the amputation surgery and recovery. They have often been asked if they were twins but they don't see it.

Brides Maid

Cally Younger is Angela's sister-in-law, married to Angela's brother, but also Angela's friend. Angela meet Cally in 2008 and instantly Angela knew, not only would she be an amazing wife for her brother, but also a wonderful friend. In 2012 when Angela moved to Idaho to be closer to family, Cally opened her home to her and Angela lived with her brother and Cally for 8 months. Cally received her law degree in 2012 and recently worked as legal council for the Governor of Idaho. Not long ago, Jay and Cally moved to the Washington D.C. area because Cally began a job at the Bureau of Land Management and is now working as Deputy solicitor for Land Resources. She is one smart cookie. :) She is the mother of three wonderful boys, who you will meet soon.

David Hansen was born outside of LA and spent most of his childhood moving from one school to another until he finally spent his high school years in Blithe, CA. After high school he tried his hand at college a couple times and moved from southern to northern California, Washington and then Montana, where he met Angela on eHarmony. Within a couple months of meeting her, he moved down to Idaho and a little over a year later they were married (the very condensed version of love story full of grace and love). Recently David went back to college while taking care of Angela after her amputation surgery. It had been over 10 years since he had done any school, so only one of his classes credited, but he was able to finish an entire bachelors degree in 4 months (he's sort of a genius) and God blessed him with a wonderful job at Secure Networks in Hyannis, MA, that he loves and is very good at. David is one of the most caring people in the whole world, and can make really good pancakes and waffles.
